Description

Smoke & Mirrors is a concentrated whipped body butter built for daily moisture and fragrance-forward body care. The formula combines four butters — shea, mango, cocoa and kokum — with nine plant oils in a dense, cushiony texture that melts as you massage it into the skin.

Unlike a lotion, Smoke & Mirrors is an occlusive emollient — it seals moisture in rather than sitting on the surface. A small amount goes a long way. Apply to damp skin after showering for the best result.

The fragrance opens with bright clementine and warm black pepper, then dries down to a smooth vanilla finish. The contrast reads fresh, spicy and sensual — unisex, but with enough complexity to hold its own.

Why It Works

The formula pairs occlusives and emollients to address both surface feel and barrier function:

  • Shea, mango, cocoa and kokum butters — four complementary emollients that soften the skin surface and help reduce transepidermal water loss. Each has a different fatty acid profile; together they cover a broader range of skin needs than any single butter alone.
  • Coconut, sweet almond, argan, jojoba, rosehip, avocado and hemp seed oils — lightweight plant oils that add slip and absorb without the heavy residue of pure butters. Argan and rosehip are particularly dense in oleic and linoleic fatty acids.
  • Beeswax — forms a protective film over the skin surface that slows moisture evaporation without fully blocking the skin's natural function.
  • Cetearyl alcohol — a fatty alcohol (not a drying alcohol) that gives the formula its cushiony, whipped texture and aids even distribution across the skin.
  • Tocopherol (Vitamin E) — a fat-soluble antioxidant that helps maintain the formula's stability and contributes to a smooth post-application feel.

For best results, apply to slightly damp skin after bathing — the skin barrier is more receptive immediately after showering, and the butters will absorb more evenly.

What's Inside

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Garcinia Indica Seed Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Tocopherol.

How to Use

Application:

  • Warm a small amount between your palms, then massage over clean skin until absorbed.
  • Start with less than you think you need — this is a concentrated formula. A coin-sized amount covers both arms.
  • Focus on hands, elbows, knees, legs and any dry-feeling areas.
  • For best results, apply immediately after bathing while skin is still slightly damp — the epidermal barrier absorbs the butters more evenly on damp skin.

Storage:

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Natural butters can soften or melt in warm conditions. If the texture changes after resolidifying, the formula's effectiveness is not affected — stir and continue using.

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

FAQ's

You’ve got questions and we have all the answers

What does Smoke & Mirrors body butter smell like?

Smoke & Mirrors opens with a bright burst of clementine, then transitions into a warm, smoky heart of black pepper. The dry-down is a soft vanilla with a creamy, skin-musk finish. The scent is unisex — clean and sophisticated without leaning fully masculine or feminine.

Is Smoke & Mirrors safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. Smoke & Mirrors is formulated without parabens, sulfates, or artificial colorants. The base is whipped shea, mango, kokum, and avocado butter — all gentle, non-comedogenic occlusives. If you have tree-nut sensitivities, check the full INCI list before use, as it contains shea and mango butter.

How long does the Smoke & Mirrors scent last?

Most customers report 6–10 hours of noticeable scent. Body butter outperforms most sprays and lotions for scent retention because the fatty acid base binds fragrance molecules to the skin rather than evaporating with alcohol. Apply to pulse points — wrists, inner elbows, the base of the throat — immediately after showering for maximum longevity.

Can I use Smoke & Mirrors on my face?

We recommend Smoke & Mirrors for body use only. The formula is rich and occlusive — ideal for arms, legs, chest, and hands — but too heavy for daily facial use on most skin types. For facial moisturization, a lighter, non-comedogenic serum or face cream is a better fit.

How is Smoke & Mirrors different from other KXNG body butters?

Smoke & Mirrors uses four base butters (shea, mango, kokum, avocado) and nine plant oils, which gives it a denser, more concentrated texture than single-butter formulas. The clementine-black pepper-vanilla scent profile is designed to be unisex — making it one of the few KXNG products equally popular with men and women. It's the closest thing in the lineup to a gender-neutral luxury moisturizer.
